I'm a graduate of the University of Florida for my undergraduate degree, and I received my Masters Degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. I worked in the hospital system in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, and then transitioned to private practice over 10 years ago. I was raised in South Florida, where I still reside with my family and pets. In my own personal self-care time, I enjoy reading, movies, going to concerts and musicals, shopping, traveling, and relaxing.

I offer individualized mental health care, and provide a neutral, safe space for my clients. I call the people I see "clients" instead of "patients" because "patient" is derived from a medical model, which implies something is wrong or needs fixing. I wish to collaborate with you to overcome obstacles by focusing on your resilience and strengths (yes, we all have them!).
I am interested in helping my clients live their best lives possible, working with them to create a toolkit of coping skills based on their strengths. I believe our lives are shaped by our past experiences, but they don't define the person we are today. Let's clarify what is important to you in your life currently, and how we can work together to move you through what is making you feel emotionally or physically "stuck".
Even though we often deal with serious and upsetting matters during therapy sessions, I feel it's important to have some levity and laughter when appropriate. Humor is a wonderful, but often underrated, tool. I practice an eclectic mix of therapies to reduce stress and increase happiness and feelings of self-efficacy.
Eclectic, Integrative/Holistic, Interpersonal, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths-Based, Queer Affirming, and Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) therapies
Prior to opening my private practice, I worked in the hospital system. I have a strong medical knowledge base, and currently see many medically complex clients. Dealing with illness, disease, and pain is an emotional roller coaster. Developing coping strategies, focusing on what you can control vs. what you cannot, and support are essential parts of managing the above conditions.
Approximately half of my current client base identifies under the Queer Spectrum.
There are complexities of existing on the queer spectrum within the heteronormative society. Queer clients often times experience regular mental health struggles in addition to varying levels of minority stress. My goal is to help clients explore and express their sexual and gender identities authentically in their lives.
Mental health for our valued educators is of vital importance but often times not prioritized. These are challenging times for those working with children. Feeling overwhelmed, burned out and exhausted from your position is unfortunately common but therapy can provide coping skills, support, and tools to help you personally and professionally.
